Vine, I’ve written about it before. Now though, the quick video app had made some changes. Two of the biggest gripes about the Vine video app are as follows:
-
That you can’t upload videos from your phone/that all videos need to be taken within the app.
-
That Vine videos can’t be edited.
That second complaint? It can no longer be a complaint. Yes, now you can edit your Vine videos. Vine has come back with the new and improved update, which is currently available on iOS and Android. Sadly though, you still can’t upload videos from your phone.

Vine’s last update was back in July. This update included easier navigation, a preview feature, a focusing ability, the ability to “revine” posts, and to see the video in grid view. THe current update has many Viners relieved. Vine is finally adding the ability to edit videos, which they hadn’t been too keen on beforehand. That being said, the Time Travel updates allow Viners to reorganize, remove, or replace any shot in a Vine at any time.

While all these updates seem great, upon second glance they are more apparent to being a catch up to Instagram video. Instagram video allows users to upload videos from their phone, which Vine still has yet to okay. Vines initial update back in July still seems to have countered Instagram’s newly launched video feature. At the end of the day though, Vine still has over 40 million users. Instagram users prefer it for the photo sharing ability – not their video capability.
